As We Get Older

Australia, what is the mystery of you for me? You are one of the rugged wilderness places still left in this land of Earth.

I am drawn to traveling to Europe to see how the seasons change there.

Always more of this United States to see. Nature writing can't be done without seeing it touching it. Nature is a blessing to all.

Nature wants to be remembered by the ones who feel its energy flowing through our bodies, even if no one wants to hear or understand today, earth changes will make it exciting reading someday.

These insights of nature are having their say anyway, and are important to pay attention to, for those that believe.

To someday take the time back to look and see how much nature means.

Time also takes the youth from trees, not just humanity. A day will come when we'll not be as able to run and jump or walk in the woods, our eyes will have dimmed, maybe even fail to see, let not my touch go away, I still want to feel the breeze and the trunk of the trees. I pray not to be left with no memory. Still want to be able to read, ears still want to hear the birds as they sing as they wake up in the morning, and sing sleep before the night. Not happy as the human body grows old when the mind has just begun to awaken enough to really live.

Want to to taste and experience more of this freedom to live in harmony with nature that is so dear to many of our hearts. To journey to the dream destination we cling to when our lives are a struggle. The few days we thought not worth living, nature pulled us through, not so much pain when we can just step outside.

So we write not in vain, but to try to speak in human capacity, the voices of nature. It is our legacy, please don't ever put us in a cage and throw away the key, don't ever take nature away from me. If I am skyrocketed to another world out there, please let there be rocks and trees and water and fresh air. Birds and plants and fish and ok, even ants. We couldn't survive in a prism without seeing, smelling, watching the sky as the clouds go by. Leave us not in a wheel chair all day, staring out a window, remembering.

Put us outside all day, we won't complain, we won't mind, we'd love to get a little bit rained on, just to breathe the salt of the sea. Let many of us still be able to sit in our own homes with doors and windows open to touch the breeze and get around as we please.

We pray to continue to crawl along the earth planting flowers, before our legs give way. We pray to travel this beautiful planet in a healthier way. Hopefully while we can still see, touch, smell, hear and taste it.

Let the little kid in us come out and say, nature is the only way.

Or we swear we'll just come back to this earth somehow and do it again with Mother Earth and do a better job defining her glory so she prospers with more star filled glory.

Are we crazy in thinking we ever have to leave it? Are we being greedy by wanting to stay when so many babies are born everyday? Maybe our bones are to be the salt of the earth. Maybe we take up too much air and food and water that might be nourishment for someone else. No more machines, or technology, let us go naturally.

Damn, if we all believed that there would be no one left. Maybe that would be good for our earth Mother. Maybe she needs a rest from all of us stomping all over her, claiming her for our selfish life pleasures. Do we even know how to truly give back? Each one of has to find an answer to that, for the generations of holes we've torn in her side.

We can speak for no one but ourselves. We feel we give back by noticing, and with that, the sun again comes out. By listening, by living and breathing, by spending as much time as we can outside, just smelling, tasting ,touching, listening. Our everything, food included comes from all this beauty of nature that surrounds us in this place.

If nothing else it get us up and out of the house for a pleasant walk.

Nature gets us out of bed when we are depressed and doesn't let us sleep with a spark of sunlight in our eyes.

We move forward not knowing what is there. Come back to the window of cherry blossoms and tweeting birds and our human bodies wanting to walk now and dry the streaming tears running down our face.
