Work Our Dog Gets Us to Do

Busy Dog Monday
Today was very colorful indeed, so much got done. Where did the energy come from? Usually on Mondays we can barely raise our heads.
Part of it, we believe, is we slept in trying to finish some dreams. Having the sun shine through the windows brings a bigger smile to our faces. We felt ready and prepared for the day, and even did some stretches. Having a dog for a companion gives us someone to take care of and more things to do. Maybe keeps us on a schedule too. Thankfully he is a pretty laid back guy and doesn’t demand when he has to go outside.
He patiently waits until we get our cup of coffee, then open the door. He doesn't mind what we are saying, and we don't feel as silly talking to ourselves, no more.
He brings us a ball to fetch as soon as he finds it, sniffing all over the ground. We’ve done our best to try and hide it from him, to no avail. He has a good nose and doesn't give up looking for it. He proudly wags his tail and points until I say, go get it.
Life is never boring with him in our life. He enjoys sitting with us on the front porch when it is time to take a rest. Another cup of coffee, watching the birds and listening to them in the trees. Contemplating shall we mow any of the yard today? Will he stay on the front porch ok? He seems to be all right if he can see us. We took the chance we had the fenced yard secured enough while we mowed the back half. He is such a good dog. He sure does learn fast.
Now it is evening and he rests at our feet. Sneaking onto the couch or the foot of the bed, close to us, wherever we may be. We love having this time with him. We love having this energy from the moon, sun, stars, to just be getting healthy again. We know it comes in spurts and must try to get in ample rest. No longer pushing our bodies, we know we are no longer limitless in the physicalness we possess.
There is a time to rest and stretch. Hopefully we will remember to stretch again before we go to sleep. Yoga is good, breathe deep. We adore this sweet dog. He finds such unusual places to rest his head. Although he doesn’t like the bare floor. He looks glad for carpets and rugs galore. We are glad he doesn’t snore. He is eating good and putting on some weight.

Dogs pull for a variety of reasons. Here, we consider why dogs pull, how to stop dog pulling, and how to make dog walking into a fun experience.
Slimming Possibilities
We are feeling like we can slim down again a bit. Winters hit us hard when our thoughts are down, then it becomes too easy to put on another pound. When we don’t care it begins to show everywhere. Now the yard is beginning to look like someone actually lives here. We’ll probably keep the grass barely cut and plant a couple of flowers here and there, a showcase yard it never has been. Soon it will be fenced all around, more privacy and fun places for the dog to run around. Maybe even before the winter calls again we will build the fire pit up to burn all the tree limbs we’ve gotten out of the way, growing so close to the ground. No, all of these things we cannot accomplish in one day. Once upon a time we thought so, maybe, now we face better our immortality and happily feel productive in accepting the color another monday brings for us to stay home in all day.
